Emily’s Success Story

I still remember the day I first walked through the doors of Thrive. I was lost, angry, and convinced that no one could truly understand what I was going through. Life had felt like a constant battle—one I was losing. But what I didn’t know then was that Thrive wasn’t just another program. It was about to become my home, my safe place, and the turning point I desperately needed.

At first, I kept my walls up. I was used to people giving up on me, so why should this be any different? But the staff at Thrive saw me, not just the version of me that was hurting, but the girl I could become. They listened when I didn’t have the words, encouraged me when I wanted to quit, and never stopped believing in me—even when I doubted myself.

Pastor Roger played a huge role in that. He wasn’t just a leader; he was someone who genuinely cared. His words weren’t empty—he meant every single one. He taught me about trust, about grace, and about finding strength in the middle of the storm. Slowly, my anger turned into hope, and my fear into faith.

Looking back now, I hardly recognize the girl who walked in that first day. I’m stronger. I’m healing. And for the first time in a long time, I believe in myself. If you’re a girl struggling like I was, all I can say is this—don’t give up. There’s a place where you’re seen, where you matter, and where you can start over. For me, that place was Thrive.
